Do you charge for initial phone consultations?
You may call me to discuss your case for free. While we discuss your legal matter, we’ll make a first determination together whether my office may meet your legal needs, and I am willing to accept representation for you, within the first 12 minutes. There is no charge for that.
Do you charge for our first meeting?
Yes, the minimum charge will be $ 100 for our first meeting (2016), whether or not we continue together. After the first phone consultation, we’ll probably already know if we will continue in an Attorney/Client Relationship. Sometimes however things will not work out between us at the first meeting. Then, I will have already opened a File, and will generate a Letter of Non-Representation, so my Policy is to charge the stated $ 100.
Must I pay your entire fee in advance?
Not always, that depends on the matter, the size of the expected fee, and the probable duration of the matter. I will tell you before you have to pay anything besides the first meeting charge, and when. I’ll ensure financial arrangements are right for both of us, and I do consider all circumstances. You will never be billed, except for the first meeting, until you have agreed to it in advance.
